Kevin Craver doesn’t want to see the world end, but he loves writing good books about it for people who love post-apocalyptic and prepper fiction.

A child of the Cold War, he was drawn at an early age to books dealing with nuclear war – while other kids talked about sports, he could have told you everything you ever wanted to know about the Fulda Gap and the half-life of cesium-137. Growing up with an English teacher father and a librarian mother imbued him with a lifelong love of writing.

He enlisted in the Army National Guard on the very day that Soviet hard-liners attempted a last-gasp coup d’etat against Mikhail Gorbachev, making him wonder as he waited to take the oath just what in the heck he was getting himself into. Despite scoring a 98% on the military aptitude test, he joined the infantry, decisively proving that test scores are not a reliable gauge of intelligence. He hanged up his fatigues fourteen years and two deployments later, having reached the rank of staff sergeant.

Kevin tries his best to live the prepper lifestyle the best he can when he’s not catering to the whims of his wife, daughter, son, and Ragdoll cat. When he’s not hoarding cans of bacon in his basement – for the living will envy the dead in a world without bacon – he enjoys reading, Mexican food, German beer, and trips to the gym to work off both.

His favorite caliber is 7.62 x 51-millimeter NATO.
